Re-authorizing TransCAD
To re-authorize TransCAD, follow these detailed steps:
Prerequisites
- Ensure you have administrative rights on the machine where TransCAD will be installed.
- Have access to the internet to download necessary files and updates.
- Ensure you have the legacy TransCAD dongle available.
Steps to Re-authorize TransCAD

Check Legacy TransCAD Dongle
- Verify if the legacy TransCAD dongle can be temporarily reactivated for the upcoming training.
- Connect the dongle to the machine and check if it is recognized by the system.
- If the dongle is not recognized, try using a different USB port or another machine to ensure the dongle is functional.

Block Update (Dongle, Network or Software Key)
If software key or dongle log onto the server/computer needing the update and open the TransCAD activation wizard (latest version) - select "the license needs to be re-authorized" - next
Network license needs to be completed by the IT team on the license server

Obtain Latest Build
- Contact Caliper support to obtain the latest build of TransCAD 9.
- Provide necessary details such as your current version, license information, and the reason for the request.
- Download the latest build from the link provided by Caliper.

License Options
- RSG has several options for TransCAD (dongle, software key or network license):

Dongle: Typically used on laptop/desktops and are not all are configured for RDP. Bill Woodford

Network License: Installed on a license server and allows two users on TC at one time currently on WRJMDLPPW02 & WRJMDLPPW05

Software Key: Typically used on servers and when someone is training/traveling. WRJMDLPPW06 (3 simultaneous users), WRJMDLPPW01 (3 simultaneous users), WRJMDLPPW09 (1 user), and WRJMDLVPW03

Activate License: During installation, you may be prompted to enter your license key. Use the key provided with your dongle.

Verify Installation: After installation, open TransCAD to ensure it is working correctly and the license is active.
